I paint to travel places- internal, external, real and imagined, in search of something peaceful and provocative, nostalgic and new.

I prefer painting with acrylics. I truly enjoy exploring different genres- and I lean towards more impressionist and expressionist styles, for my figures, interiors and landscapes- but I also love painting loose abstract non-figurative art.
Where do you find inspiration?I’m a literature teacher and an art history teacher- both subject inspire my work in various ways- my interiors have a narrative quality to them- and my love of all art allows me to draw from all sorts of styles for my own inspiration- which is why I don’t paint only one genre. I’m also half French- and draw a large amount of inspiration from French landscape, and belle époque French interiors. I’m definitely an eclectic maximalist!
What would you do with $25,000?I would pay someone to set up a website for my work, and go live in France for a little it to work on my landscapes and interiors.
