I've always loved to illustrate but now have taken my illustrative skills and creative eye into the photography world. I love creating miniature worlds, using household items like foil for water and logs for mountains. Creating environments practically rather than digitally is very satisfying for me. When you can visit space, the desert, a jungle all from the confines of your living room that's a magical experience.
Where do you find inspiration?My inspiration comes from my love of movies and pop culture. I love to recreate an emotion or atmosphere from a film just in a still photo. I've always admired the technical aspect of old movies before CGI and that's what I try to celebrate in my photography with using practically shot techniques and special effects. Which is why I show my behind the scenes shots for each photo so you can see the construction.
What would you do with $25,000?I have been struggling to find work and unfortunately am losing my home, the money would really help me towards a place for me and my cat to live. Ideally I would love the money to push my photography further and get more people to see what I do and inspire others but that time or opportunity hasn't come yet.
