I am drawn to creating documentary films that illuminate community, history, and the stories that shape how people connect to place. My work focuses on preserving local heritage, amplifying overlooked voices, and exploring the cultural, environmental, and human threads that define a community’s identity. Through film, I aim to inform, inspire, and create a lasting record for future generations.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the people, places, and stories that often go unnoticed—local history, community voices, and the everyday efforts of those working to preserve culture, protect the environment, and strengthen civic life. I’m inspired by the idea that film can capture these moments, give them meaning, and help connect communities to their shared past, present, and future.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000, I would produce a short documentary film series exploring the history of the automobile, its impact on society, and the value of comprehensive public transit systems. The project would examine successful transit models in Mexico, across Europe, and in China, highlighting practical ideas that can inspire smarter, safer, and more connected communities in the United States.
