I create because I can. My hands want to move, my mind wants to learn, and problem solve. Art allows me to do this with beautiful reminders.

Acrylic paintings. Painting allows me to make a new world experience. Acrylic paint grants forgiveness if the piece calls for a redirection, but also tolerates being thinned creating a watercolor-like transparency. This versatility lets me build layers that are both behind, in front, and suspended in the composition.
Where do you find inspiration? From photography. I loved looking for lines and balance in a photograph through my viewfinder. I began to like so many of my works and I thought it was my forever true love medium. When I started cutting and collaging my photos I realized I wanted to make changes to the photos. Editing felt misleading. I wanted to be more involved. I use the idea of photographic composition shape, line, and focus. These elements create the emotions intended in my paintings. Motion in line is the core of my work.
What would you do with $25,000?Start an online business selling my prints, paintings, and clay work. Prints made, packing material, and insurance. I would use some to enter artworks into shows and vendor events, being next to Nashville there are a lot of opportunities, but gallery fees are the limiting factor. Travel to further vendor opportunities. Invest more into clay materials and general materials. I would set aside some for any business stuff and put some into savings after making sure all the taxes were taken out.
