I create art that is temporary at best. The magic that occurs when something is created out of frozen water is as addictive as it is admired

I have built and maintained an ice museum at Chena Hot Springs Resort 60 miles outside of Fairbanks, Alaska. I have the strange job of creating an atmosphere out of ice that would compell people to travel to the middle of nowhere to experience 40 minutes of wonder. 70% of it is fixing things and making things safe but 30% of it is pure raw creativity that gives me goosebumps thinking about it. A normal tour has around 40 people and when they are leaving they thank me for sharing my work.
Where do you find inspiration? When I was young I saw the news reporting on a man damaging the most beautiful marble sculpture. It was the Pieta from Michaelanglo. I was horrified by the act and inspired to be a sculptor by the beauty. I have seen the top glass sculptures out of the Seattle area for decades and have been jealous of what they produce. There has been movies that have moved me to a different place but I would have to say music is the most powerful form of art. If something can give you goosebumps it’s magic.
What would you do with $25,000?There’s so many directions that I have pursued in the past decades that I still am passionate about. Ice is my main outlet and will be the majority of my expenses but I started from bronze, wood, metal, and stone and I would love to make that at least a third of my efforts. My wife Heather and I have been working on a book of decades of our ice works. We are nearly finished with it and it will be something that can mark our artistic efforts in a art form that is temporary.
