I'm currently working on my first series of graphic novels for everyone. I've worked for many properties but this is all me.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Right now I am creating a series of 5 graphic novels (Spoonvale). I am having a lot of fun because I'm drawing in numerous styles. I worked for Topps Trading cards Garbage Pail Kids, and photo-real for Walking Dead season 6 and Star Wars. I also did animation for Cartoon Network. What I like best is doing an amalgam of various styles and mediums. And doing my own unique ideas rather than working for someone else's established properties. Just creating what I would like to see as a fresh fandom
Where do you find inspiration?I'm 48, Xennial. So I got all the best (in my opinion) ?. I spent my childhood in the 80's with the classics and always loved the Mad Magazine, Garbage Pail Kids parody style. 1990 I began my teenage years inspired by Ren & Stimpy. I ended up with art in Mad and working for Garbage Pail Kids which led me to many other things professionally. And my favorite artists are now friends and coworkers (if they are still alive). I've manifested my way well. I'm still finding new inspiration daily.
What would you do with $25,000?Good question. I would like to have a place to call home. Be close to my two adult children and marry my girlfriend Jennifer. I could definitely use the funds to create a comfortable creative spot for all of us to be together. That's the big picture. And leave a legacy for everyone through my art. My books I am working on are for everyone. My opus. I could truly be the people's artist. Having dabbled in about everything. Illustration, animation, fine art, logos, gallery shows, teaching...
