Because I see beauty and conflict I order up my art to reflect the tension between those two, so that we may not go numb.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Oil paintings on wood panels, and also now canvas.
Where do you find inspiration?Conceptually, it would be beauty, and what threatens it. Subject-wise, the woman, faces, children, flowers, scenery, HUGE skies and clouds, the Bible, great authors like Frederick Buechner, Zadie Smith, Mary Karr, Jeffrey Eugenedes, Marilynne Robinson, Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy, Thomas Pynchon, etc. and…the mystery and reality of Love.
What would you do with $25,000?That’s easy. Pay off the credit cards that are currently funding my 2 tiny home studios, one art, and one music, and get a decent vehicle that will support living out of and travel in order to see more and meet people, and personally distribute my art. Oh, and play spontaneous gigs wherever they may arise.
