I returned to Film Photography mostly out of tragedy and grief; it has been the one thing that has helped me through difficult times.

I love Black and white Photography, I enjoy the process of developing my own film and printing in the Darkroom. All I think about lately is wanting to print more of my negatives! When I’m in the darkroom it feels like I’m painting with light. The process of Creating has been instrumental in my healing process after grief and in my daily life having faced so much trauma in my past. I feel a creative outlet is necessary.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in my own community in Los Angeles in thinking about wanting to make changes in the world, from other artists, musicians, songs, history, my culture and living as a Chicana in Los Angeles.
What would you do with $25,000?I would continue to do my art I would be able to buy more film, paper and hopefully build a darkroom to be able to print as much as I wanted and produce more work with a goal of publishing my own Photobook.
