I love art because it creates moments for me to unload, and making connections to hidden inner self and bring out wisdoms that propels me.

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest as an undocumented youth, uncertain of what I was allowed to hope for, I often sought refuge in my favorite park. Alone in the woods, surrounded by fresh air, gentle breezes, and the soft sounds of rustling leaves, I felt connected to something greater than myself. My current body of work reflects those moments. The paintings hold the remnants of those solitary encounters with the landscape.
Where do you find inspiration?I was influenced by quiet moments outdoors. The cold morning air brushing against my skin, rain-soaked grass beneath me, and the scent of shrubs as I moved through the landscape. These experiences grounded me and gave me a lasting sense of belonging. Being in nature made me aware that I am part of something larger than myself. My work as a landscape artist grows from this awareness. Rather than simply depicting scenery, I seek to express the atmosphere and presence of the land.
What would you do with $25,000?First thing I could think of is to get some art materials for my next exploration. Since I made a move from WA to OK, I said good byes to and left behind many of my memories and for someday in the future items. Approx. $500.00 - $800.00 will go toward purchasing some art materials for the next project. And some will go toward artist fees. But also, I am a first grade teacher often use out of pocket money, and wonder perhaps set aside some fund to do a workshop with the kids.
