“ You live in my heart where no one sees you but I do. That vision becomes this art.” -Rumi
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Discovering that I love to paint, about three years ago, was part of a healing journey, my path laid out in colors I felt I was seeing for the first time, everywhere. I’ve always had a desire, deep desire to create and express myself, which finally found its outlet with paint. So far my paintings are done with acrylics.
Where do you find inspiration?I’m inspired by nature, music, people, spirituality, whimsy, humorous notions, quirky moments, fantasy, and beauty. Beauty in everything, the beauty of living in rural Kentucky.
What would you do with $25,000?I have lots of dreams- one is to create a space in my home town in Kentucky where anyone can come and create, be inspired, dream, and discover the healing properties art can have on any stage of their life, even if you suffer from disabilities, as I do from severe neuropathy. Art is healing and can benefit everyone. Also, being self-taught I’d love to find a mentor to learn from, travel, or go to school, things I didn’t have the opportunity to do when I was young. I’m 51 now.
