When it comes to creating, I am a jack of all trades & dive into a variety of artistic outlets. However, I am most confident in my ability to capture life with charcoal. Since I work primarily with charcoal, creating art that has life while still being in black & white isn’t always the easiest thing to do, but I like the challenge. Capturing light and shadows with just a stick of charcoal & a blending stump is somewhat meditative. And turning a blank page into something full of life is magical.

My number one source of inspiration is music. Something that most people don’t find that important, it’s my whole world. Whether it’s from an album as a whole, one song, a lyric or the chemistry a band displays while performing on stage, I’m intrigued. Music is so inspiring to me because it is a skill & talent that I don’t possess or understand in a sense, and I admire the people that do it well & make it look easy. We live in a very dark & twisted world, music is my light in the dark.

If I was fortunate enough to be gifted this money, I would love to use it to get my own studio space and save the rest as an art fund. I truly believe the space and environment in which you create needs to have the right energy, and sometimes you don’t always find that space at home.
