My artwork spans leading experiential art groups at a local creative community center, a dedicated career of tattooing, and an ever-present ever-evolving thread of writing, painting, and illustration. Across all forms, I’m drawn to the creative act as a way to interpret experience, examine self, and connect to the silent dialogue of human spirit. My favorite kind of art to create is whatever deepens that awareness and connects us to our unique expressive passion.

Van Gogh said it best "I'm seeking. I'm striving. I'm in it with all my heart". But also: Music, silence, chaos, truck stop coffee, dusty books, the sky, the ocean, naps, dreams, overthinking, meditating, my sketchbook, my journal, scrapbooking, records I can’t afford, records I bought anyway, dark chocolate, darker chocolate, good art, bad art, thrift stores, sci-fi, no destination drives, wrong destination drives, old cameras, new socks, the smell of rain, fireflies, and one very special dog!

Early I was lifted by those who saw a spark in me and helped fan it into a guiding light. It taught me that community is as vital as the art itself. Last year the center that hosted my creative group closed its doors after 5 years. With this prize money I plan to build a new next level online art program and creative resource center to assist young artists and forever dreamers ignite their light, navigate their journey, and take ownership of mission and vision with confidence.
