As an artist and art teacher, I am passionate about the creative process. I love being able to lose myself in my work and be freed by it.

I like to create art that reflects nature in the form of a portrait. Truly capturing essence through lines, shapes, and colors through drawing and painting. My absolute favorite thing to do is watercolor, followed by acrylic, oil, pastels, and charcoal. I love creating surreal illustrations as well more fine art. I find joy in all the details- the color temperature shifts as lighting moves, the rhythm within the structure of forms, and the tactile quality of each individual texture.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration within nature and all of its beautiful detail. Looking, truly looking, at the anatomy as well as essence gives me understanding and appreciation. Flowers are great examples of this, they are immensely detailed in form and color. Each varietal gives off it's own personality - applying shape language and color theory/symbolism allows me to create character and beauty. Following the curvature of the petals is like following that of a figure - elegant and flowing.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to assist in fixing my studio space and other elements of my home. The roof of my studio space, attached to my home, has issues with a leak and there has since accrued a significant amount of water damage. Every rainy season that has passed, for a few years now, has taken it's soggy toll on my walls. This has destroyed the insulation of my art working space, and allowed for so much moisture and water to soak into the walls as well as my artwork and supplies.
