You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Abstract Fiber and Woven works, felt sculpture and any mixed media that combines fiber with traditional media. It is a treat when I have the opportunity to create installation or large scale work that creates a story within a prescribed setting.
Where do you find inspiration? From lived experience, Jungian psychology, and reading (so much reading - I have over 1500 books!), -and modern female artists: my favorites are Bourgeoise, Hesse, Asawa, Tawney and Fini.
What would you do with $25,000?I would expand my studio practice and invest in education to explore new techniques and refine core processes that would further my career. As a self-taught artist and mother, resources for education are limited, and studio rentals are dear. Finds would also allow to travel to more exhibition opportunities outside of my region that offer greater visibility. Simply put, I would breathe a little and expand.
