My favorite type of art to create are oil portraits. I love making portraits because I believe a person's single expression can reveal so much depth and complexity, always hiding a story which I can uncover. Wether I paint small or old, Woman or Man, I always aim to show their struggles, joys, and heart through my paintings.
Where do you find inspiration?I find my inspiration from my favorite artist, Leonardo Da Vinci. His life's mission was to achieve a total understanding of nature, just as how I want to achieve a total understanding of human nature. His techniques in painting have deeply inspired me by influencing my art mediums, subject matter, and to look beyond a painting, instead to look at the essence of it.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000, I would use half to start a nonprofit where I host monthly free workshops, teaching teenagers how to paint from beginning to advanced, spreading my love for art in a way that is accessible for everyone. I would use the other half to fund my own art education so I can grow as an artist and give more back to the community.
