I don't find art in one medium. Although I have worked with acrylic, I will gravitate to mixed media if I'm inspired to do so. When I use acrylics I find that I can then translate that work to other pieces. As far as subject matter, still life, abstracts, and art that tells a story and perhaps a different story for whomever admires it.
Where do you find inspiration?If feel like the inspiration actually finds me. I childhood memory or a scent of a freshly baked pie awakens something inside that can't remain inside. It doesn't belong to me. That's when I take to my canvas. Nature, world events, witnessing the joys and pains of life, they find me and how I process these findings sometimes shows up on my canvas. Frankly, it's cheaper than therapy. Even pain, anxiety, confusion, joy...I can translate them all. So, inspiration finds me ...in life.
What would you do with $25,000?I grew up in The Bronx, New York and attended P.S. 97, grades K-5. Those were some of the best educational experiences I've had. I would allocate some of those winnings because I always wanted to give back somehow to that institution. I would also like to host a art show for young entrepreneurs, to encourage them to continue to follow their passion in the art world.
