Creating art is my way of breathing color into silence. Each piece is a spark of emotion made visible. We were born to create.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I create 3D mixed media because flat surfaces feel too limited. Real life isn’t clean; it’s layered, fractured, and rebuilt. I’m drawn to tension: soft against rigid, broken against whole. My work is shaped by lived experience, including raising a child who sees the world differently. I don’t just make art to be seen. I build it to be felt, questioned, and confronted.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in layers: both physical and emotional. Working in 3D mixed media allows me to build beyond a flat surface, which reflects how I experience life. I’m drawn to contrasts: strength and fragility, tension and resilience, and how different materials can come together to tell a deeper story. Much of my perspective is shaped by my life at home, especially raising my son, who experiences the world differently. That has changed the way I notice things.
What would you do with $25,000?My child isn’t defined by their disability. They’re defined by their resilience, their personality, and the way they light up my life every day. Being their parent has changed me in ways I never expected. It’s taught me patience, strength, and what truly matters. But it also comes with real challenges. There are ongoing therapies, appointments, and financial pressures that don’t just come and go. They’re constant. Every decision I make is centered around making sure they have what they need.
