I create metal sculptures that explore the connection between the body and soul and our boundlessness as human beings. I am drawn to the juxtaposition of beauty and hardness that metal conveys when shaping the female figure. I also work in oil and acrylic.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the intangible and seek to make it tangible by bringing it into physical form. I am inspired by daily life, deep thought, my faith, conversations with my mother, and the hidden wonders I often encounter. All of my work carries underlying biblical themes, with the aim of transcending understanding and reaching people on a subconscious level.
What would you do with $25,000?As an undergraduate student, I would use these funds to support tuition and art fees while investing in materials that allow me to expand my practice, creating more work and pushing into larger-scale sculptures and paintings.
