I create because I have to. Raw expression through mediums is to communicate with and heal aspects of the neglected child in me.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I fluctuate through mediums depending on what makes sense and is most accessible to me in moments when I feel drawn to release, using multi/mixed media to communicate with aspects of self that aren’t always within perceptive reach. I take photos to lift diverse & under represented voices by capturing glimpses of bold, raw, truth existing in individuals who live authentically in a world where discrimination & inequality is prevalent
Where do you find inspiration? In anything rejecting societal expectations or aesthetic imagery. I am inspired by authenticity, truth, unapologetic expression and communal engagement.
What would you do with $25,000?I would work toward my goal of creating a program/space focused on breaking down boundaries that exist in communal spaces. I want to create a safe space that serves as a foundation for creative expression, growth, and collaboration with incentive to heal individuals and community as whole from interpersonal traumas, effects of systemic inequity/exclusion, substance abuse, etc.. An inclusive to everyone community exploring therapeutic tools like art, music, breath work, and movement.
