I create art because I feel it is a physical representation of my place in my community. I want to shed light on the Afro American diaspora.

My favorite type of art is painting. I love creating portraits of black women and men mixed with elements of black culture and nature.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration comes from being in my community and interacting with different people on day to day basis. I also love being around flowers. I feel the bright and bold colors help build my creativity.
What would you do with $25,000?The first thing I would do with $25k is use a portion to go towards creating a residency for high school and college students. I want to have an open studio space where students can be expressive. I will also create a grant to give to students in my program to start and expand their art brand. I would also use a small portion to expand my own art brand to create the foundation to host my art shows and workshops.
