I love creating art because it comforts the disturbed and disturbs the comforted. Art is a way of expressing things the mouth cannot.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite kind of art to create are pieces that portray intense emotion revolving around important life messages. Things that can evoke feelings in someone that understand the harsh realities of this life and the system that we live in. I love to build art that resonates with myself and my personal experiences, because I know that others go through just as much and my creations might help them seek serenity when it may be hard to find elsewhere.
Where do you find inspiration?I seek inspiration for my art through feeling. Often times I feel my emotions incredibly deep, and putting them into art helps my mind cope. I close my eyes and think of what I’m feeling and then channel that into what I’ve seen it manifest as throughout other peoples lives. My primary source of inspiration is through the people around me, as I’m able to see a lot of emotion through their body language and facial expressions- among other things.
What would you do with $25,000?If I were to gain 25,000 dollars I would immediately portion it out to give to those around me. There are so many people in my life who have been there for me at my lowest who deserve more than I have ever been able to give. Growing up, my family didn’t come from much, and we always had people jumping in whenever we needed help. We wouldn’t have survived without them. I want to be able to give back to those people someday and $25,000 can do that for all of them.
