Art feels honoring to my soul, and when I’m in active creation I am the most connected to my humanity as well as my divinity.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I mostly create mixed media art, using upcycled materials. I find most of my supplies at the thrift-store, whether that be magazines, canvases, or trinkets. I love to repurpose something that has already lived many lives, being the reason I am the “keeper of many things”- When it finds a home on/in a piece of art it seems purposeful and dare I say, divine. I feel like the artists’ eye sees beauty in “things” most would discard, and creatives find treasure in the places that are often overlooked.
Where do you find inspiration?I feel like an observer in the world, serving witness to the stunning, messy and chaotic nature of humanity, all while being a participant in it. Im inspired by our humanity in relation to the complexity and divinity of the natural order and universe. Creating serves as a mirror of our inner and external worlds, connecting us in our conscious awareness and shared omnipresence.
What would you do with $25,000?I’d have the freedom to publish the books I have written. Both are very vulnerable but I feel that they are worth sharing. I would also be able to live my dream of opening a spiritual practice, focusing on energy work and healing. It would be incredibly fulfilling to work with women, helping to strengthening the connection they share with their highest-self. Authentic self-expression and love will be at the core of my practice.
