I've never even thought about this before.. Thank you! My favorite type of art to create is of the messy, dysfunctional, and chaotic nature of being human. Yet, an art piece that comes from a human of this nature (me) brings a hopeful light to it, a "you're not alone" feeling to life. I've naturally found myself exploring this through pens, markers, acrylic, pastels and water color (sometimes a combination of these). I would love to work my way up to exploring this with oil paintings as well.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration from accidents, scribbles and from a mess. My mothers individual hairs that got stuck to the shower wall. The condesation that builds up on a table. "I swear the intersection of those tree branches outside my window form a face of a monster. What does it want?". Not only is it a helpful start to have people scribble like a baby in my sketchbooks, but it also allows me to create something that I would have never thought of on my own."A messy canvas is better than a blank one"
What would you do with $25,000?I would buy a plane ticket to Amsterdam, where my best friend lives and I'd soak it all up! Especially the rich artistic nature of the place. Then I'd come back and rent out or maybe even purchase a studio space where I can guide people who claim to be "inartistic" or "not creative", to a new realm of consciousness, that then allows them to express themselves in way that they never believed they were capable of. I'd love to invest in my passion for opening up people to their creative side.
