I been drawing for 35 years now. Mostly pencil realism. I recently tried pointillism and thought I’d display my artwork in my first entry.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Realism portraits. I have been commissioned to draw portraits of loved ones for customers. And to see their smile, tears.. happiness. It makes the time I put into the drawings worth it.
Where do you find inspiration?Everywhere. Life is full of inspiration if you look at the beauty at what life has to offer. There is beauty even in sadness and as an artist, if I can tap into that emotion, I can concentrate that feeling in an expression of art. As a professional portrait artist for the last 25 years, I’ve drawn many portraits for people that have helped them through difficult times of loosing a loved one and I’ve felt that emotion they feel when they see the finished portrait.
What would you do with $25,000?I want to be a full time artist and this would help lay the foundation for my art career so I can continue providing these portraits for people. I do work a full time but my love and passion is in artwork. I know that if I was to have a solid foundation I can pursue my dreams of having a brick and mortar studio and not just in my basement.
