Ever since was 5 years old or so I’ve been creating. My Grandmother “Millie” bought my first oil paint set, I was like five. I’m still here.

I’m passionate about creating work from a place of abstract expressionism. Within this realm I’m able to create what has not been seen before. I’m creating from my mind interpreting the happenings of everyday life and journeys around us. Painting and the act of painting along with assemblage, rules the studio. Merging and re-inventing new ways to illustrate an emotion and invoke an emotion from the viewer. This very act of creating is the cannon for my practice. A fine art via a Creative soul.
Where do you find inspiration?Life and its ups and downs provide inspiration for me .The attribute of resilience via music over many genres fuel my passion to create. Cinematic masterpieces of storytelling are a huge source as well. Current events , fashion often times the impact of politics and culture helps maintain my finger on the pulse to resonate with humanity. All these things are essential for me as an artist to be inspired to continue this journey. Lastly seeing my mentor Sam Gilliam live out his dreams keeps me up.
What would you do with $25,000?Once I win the $25,000.00 I would use a portion to pay on my studio space. There are a few tools that I currently do not have; such as a large easel, a printer and bigger monitor for my current computer. Also a better camera to produce higher quality images. Essentially the prize money will help elevate my practice and fulfill the needs of my artistic journey. A blessing it will provide, that will help my artistic journey reach new heights. Thank you in advance. Lastly buy some art supplies.
