I love to paint surrealistic paintings on cardboard with oil paint. I haven't been able to work for almost ten years because while I've tumbled round in poverty, the paints l had had actually dried up! The priced of oil paints and brushes have soared, but more then that is that l haven't had a landlord that would allow it, or like currently, the place l have is too small, unless l would only be able to make 8x10s. What l like to do most is play guitar, percussion, sing, write and record my songs.
Where do you find inspiration? The Beatles,Alice Cooper and Ritchie Blackmore, mostly. But my Father, Thomas Kerry painted in oils and wrote and recorded songs as well. Like me, none of his songs ever got published. But, his work is scattered all over the internet now. He passed away young at 56 in 1983. He mostly painted barn scenes, landscapes and innocent looking children holding flowers. Very detailed as well. He was my mentor and main inspiration. He gave me lots of pointers in writing songs and also trained mein painting
What would you do with $25,000?I would finally buy a Les Paul with the cherry sunburst finish that l always wanted. I would move out of the city of Glendale to a place that is more in the country with cheaper rent. Also be able to have a couple of dogs. I also need more space and be far enough to be able to blast my Les Paul with my new Marshall stack. I'd also get a Roland Jazz chorus 120 amp. I at least l now have a FenderStrat.Aside from theLes Paul the rest is all equipment l once had and more lve yearned to have again!
