I love to create mixed media works that combine traditional and contemporary 2D and 3D art processes. I often arrange and present my paintings with physical objects I refer to as staged paintings.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in unexpected, twisted, chaotic, unique, and inexplicable objects, places and events in our history and reality.
What would you do with $25,000?After 20 years as an art educator, I would use the money to convert my garage into a studio and take a break from teaching to dedicate time focused on my artwork. I began my career teaching what I love, to support my true passion, creating art, but as the demands of teaching have continued to increase over the years, the time I dedicate to the art of others now exceeds my own. I would like the opportunity to reverse that focus.
