Creating art and films is my way of expressing my unique Alaskan perspective and how I see the world.

Receive Text UpdatesMy favorite type of art to create is personal and historical narratives through filmmaking and moving images. Storywise, I like to focus on female characters as a woman born overseas. Aesthetic-wise, I gravitate towards environments in nature, using the sun and lighting to convey self-expression. I grew up in Alaska and spent much time outdoors so I prefer to use the natural aesthetic because it is harder to wield, and the challenge of keeping nature within the screen is a part my practice.
Where do you find inspiration?Nature is my primary inspiration. I spend most of my time filming and writing, so making space to be outside in nature to see the world around me and the people who live beside me truly inspires my work and stories. Both urban nature and the great outdoors provide an ample canvas with which to create movement and narratives.
What would you do with $25,000?I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2019. For people like me, it takes 3 times as long to complete tasks. Financial support would break down these barriers, allowing me to purchase a used car, cut down on transportation time, provide me with an actual film camera, and rent a workspace to focus and write as my current space is crowded with roommates and distractions. I also hope to shoot a documentary in the Gambia.
