What is your favorite type of art to create?

Large scale works usually celebrating the Oval form in some nature , and public if possible. Stone is my preferred material but wood and metal do indeed become part of my journey

Where do you find inspiration?

I live in Hawaii on Maui . I’m influenced by design and cultural sensibility of the East . The ocean waves , mountains and valleys inspire me . The love of the Aina ( land ) in Hawaiian culture has instilled a respect for the materials I use and work that honors that .

What would you do with $25,000?

I would create a large public work for our local community arts center . Hui No Eau Visual Arts Center . Public art is so important in my view .
