I create artwork to eliminate negative stereotypes of black and brown people.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I like to create artwork that has a message. The artwork is usually realistic figurative oil painting. The imagery consists of family events, issues and politics; seeing the everyday experiences of the modern black family.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the lives and lived experiences of all people. I am motivated by depicting the shared experiences of my culture and family as valuable contribution to the American society.
What would you do with $25,000?I would continue to share my artwork with galleries, universities and hopefully museums. The money will be used to create artwork that captures the struggle of black Americans and the humanity in their lived experiences. The goal is to create social acceptance of what should be known already; I matter, my family matter, we matter.
