What is your favorite type of art to create?

My favorite type of art to create is photography that captures the rhythm of everyday life—moments often overlooked yet deeply tied to culture, memory, and place. I’m drawn to abstract and surreal compositions in real environments—murals, textures, reflections, and fragments of the city—framing them with intention. As a musician, I see visual “beats” in patterns, contrast, and movement, turning ordinary scenes into layered stories.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration in everyday life—especially in overlooked spaces, street textures, murals, and shifting light across the city. Sacramento’s neighborhoods, people, and cultural layers constantly influence my perspective. As a musician, I’m also inspired by rhythm and tone, which shape how I see patterns, movement, and contrast. My “photo quests” allow me to explore and capture moments where culture, memory, and environment intersect.

What would you do with $25,000?

I would expand my photography practice through travel, taking my “photo quest” beyond Sacramento to document cultures, environments, and everyday moments around the world. I would invest in equipment, printing, and exhibitions to share this work publicly. This support would allow me to present global stories through my unique lens while preserving the beauty and complexity of overlooked spaces and communities.
