Over the past 14 years I’ve been focusing on landscape paintings using watercolors. Before that I worked in mixed media, pastels, ink, etc.. I loved creating abstract portraits of imaginary people. I’ll add a few of these works. Generally I paint for a few months and then I take a break and focus on drawing. Colored pencils, ink, felt pens, pastels. Drawing for a couple months allows me to realign my brain for painting again, it’s a wonderful cycle.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration from being in nature. I also find inspiration in a crowded coffee house! I’ve been living in Maine for the past 35 years! I live close to the ocean and also close to the forest trails, and inland mountains.l’m also an, “emotional landscape artist”, I get all my inspiration from being in nature, or, I like to be around people. I walk the beach or a hike in the woods. I’m inspired by the beauty of the natural world.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use it to create more art!! I would upgrade my art studio! I would be able to afford art supplies!! I would be able to spend more time working on showing my art! I would love to open my own art gallery.
