Tina Blizzard

I take the stress and emotion in my head and I push it into the canvas. It’s my therapy and my passion. Art has guided me through life.

What is your favorite type of art to create?

I paint with my fingers and a palette knife. It allows me to create an emotional connection with my work. Animals are my favorite subject matter especially primates. Their human like faces capture so much emotion.

Where do you find inspiration?

I love visiting animals at nearby zoos with my two boys and finding one in the perfect pose for a piece. Seeing a majestic tiger laying in the grass or a huge gorilla sitting on a rock gazing into the distance evokes emotion within you. I try to capture those moments and paint them as they should be seen.

What would you do with $25,000?

I’m at a moment in life where even $100 would help a lot. That much money would absolutely make a huge impact on my life and allow me to get my feet on the ground. It would also allow me to get the supplies needed to start teaching my own art class which will allow me to gain more of an income for myself.
