I create art to represent my specific interpretations of the world. Being a woman, having autism and ADD, surviving childhood trauma.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love to use bright joyful colors in whatever medium I use. Color makes me so happy. I also like to celebrate women with lots of curvy lines with harder strong geometric shapes to represent our soft and fierce sides. I mostly create abstract art because my brain is always looking for patterns in the chaos. Abstract art can be interpreted in so many different ways! Just like our lives, looking for meaning and clues to explain our existence!
Where do you find inspiration?Everywhere! Mostly I find inspiration in my emotions! I feel everything so intensely! Because I’m neurodiverse, I’m constantly receiving hundreds of little details of information throughout my daily interactions. So there’s all this chaos! Art helps me organize it and appreciate the beauty in all of it. Nature is especially inspirational for me! The cycles of life and death and how everything is perfectly imperfect! No flower or leaf looks the same. My art always helps me express my feelings.
What would you do with $25,000?I would look for a studio space so that I can have a dedicated space to create more art! I’d also look for a pottery studio. I currently live in California in a 1 bedroom apartment and there’s not much room to paint or do any kind of art in my place. I’d also like to take more classes to enhance my skills.
