Receive Text UpdatesI love both digital painting for the colour saturation and vibrance the medium affords. I haverecently been drawn to watercolour on canvas, again drawn to colour and the movement of water itself on the surface, and through, colour. I strive for connection through love of landscapes, the sea, birds, and humanity. Creating art that elicits emotion and response is exciting! The creative process is ofen enhanced by music and I have done some "slideshows " of my work to music as well.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration behind the headlines, in the natural world/environment, in love, in music, and poetry. The struggle for dignity and self expression is integral to every piece I create and share. I love the varied colour palettes available both on the canvas through watercolour and also through the digital medium. As a disabled and queer artist I find beauty and truth in moments of creation. Inspiration can also come from working through trauma, illness, and grief. @kaushalyabannerji
What would you do with $25,000?Develop my artistic and technical skill in the digital medium, printing and framing. I would love to exhibit to the public and do projections of my digital work. This prize would help me realize my artistic dream and develop a professional portfolio and presentation. As a disabled self-taught artisit i have little access to material resources. I would also use the money to buy materials and learn how to market my work, which I know nothing about. Grateful for this awesome chance!
