I create mixed media abstract art because I want the art form to convey the complexity of emotions that were poured into that creation, sometimes developing a contrast between regular light versus blacklight. I enjoy creating depth with tape and crackle mediums. Working with mannequins is my favorite challenge, which represent the hidden perversion of myself or whomever I am creating them for.
Where do you find inspiration?My inspiration comes from inside my heart. Whether I am gleaming with joy, seething with angry, or writhing in desire. I can carefully choose the colors and tools to convey each feeling. My mannequins are meant to portray the humanity within my emotional representations.
What would you do with $25,000?I would repay the $18k rent debt I have accumulated since deciding to chase my dreams of being an artist/performer/comedian. I would buy gas gift cards for those who have driven me to gigs over the last 3 years. Whatever is left over, I would use to take my mother and godmother to do something nice: a weekend gateway, dinner and a show, a spa day, or maybe just cover some of their bills and stock their fridges. Without these people I wouldn't have the opportunities I've had to lead me here.
