Making art is an emotional & spiritual practice of exploring the topography and landscapes of human experience.

I am drawn towards abstract expressionism. My canvases are richly layered and textured, creating a type of gravity that hopefully pulls a viewer in. I want people to experience a bit of how I feel when I’m making my work. When they see a piece up close, it’s an invitation to dive into their own visual meditation.
Where do you find inspiration?I see texture and patterns everywhere, and collect images as I move through the world. I’m interested in using color and textures as my language, and while I take photos all over urban environments, it’s the natural world that provides the most inspiration for me. I love the juxtaposition of edges, be they abrupt or gradual, and the forms I see in the world inspire the line work and shapes that emerge in my art.
What would you do with $25,000?I will always be in need of materials like paints, mediums, canvas and tools. Additionally, this type of windfall would enable me invest in finding and connecting with my particular audience of collectors.
