Creating art is a process where the work you put into it, produces newer art and ideas. As much as one invests, one will receive and more.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
That feels like a trick question. Whatever discoveries I have, leads me to a new form of creating, and new media. Artists are (for the most part) self-reliant and do everything in their power to create an inspired idea. This leads to research, experimentation and asking more questions. If there is any medium, process where it requires some form of commercial fabrication, then the artists finds out who can help them with their dreams. I also love learning new processes for myself and learn.
Where do you find inspiration?Museums of all kinds, not just art museums. Sometimes, looking at the way things were made throughout history, by visiting any of the Smithsonian museums, or as I discovered years ago, the Air Force Museum in Dayton, OH, you can find the value of art. I saw a special exhibit in that military museum that displayed all the art Americans made in the German POW camps, the Stalag. With limited supplies, these soldiers stripped of everything else, still wrote plays and did drawings of each other.
What would you do with $25,000?Continue doing what I’m doing, but replace a table saw for a newer and safer type. A dear friend who passed away last year, gave me his old table saw about 5 years ago, and have used it since. But it doesn’t have a lot of the safety features to avoid kickbacks, and I’ve already had a few accidents already, luckily minor but still painful kickbacks.
