Creating is the closest I get to understanding why I’m here. And art is the one place I never had to pretend to be someone else.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite art to create is music that tells the truth. Guitar-based, atmospheric, and honest. I love when a song points toward something greater, like uncovering what was already there. But I see art the same way in everything I do. The precision of cable management in a data center rack. A drawing. My tattoos. The way skateboarding and sports demand your whole self. God hides beauty in unexpected places. I just try to recognize it.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration finds me in the quiet and the chaos. God is the source of everything I create. My family. And musically I carry Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, and Andy Timmons in my hands every time I pick up a guitar. Writers like Paco Ahlgren showed me that truth can live inside a story. Escher taught me that reality has layers worth exploring. Christopher Nolan reminded me that art can make you question everything you thought you knew. I pull from all of it and try to turn it into something honest.
What would you do with $25,000?$25,000 would be an act of stewardship. I’d invest in my music, my education, and stability I’ve never had before. A proper studio setup. Certifications and degrees that open doors. An emergency fund that removes fear. And something for my family and the recovery community that helped save my life. Every dollar with intention.
