I find that art lets you celebrate all aspects of life and human emotion. Happiness, sadness, beauty, kindness, brutality. It is liberation
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I enjoy painting with acrylics the most, but I also sketch, use pastels and write poetry that I incorporate into my visual works. I was a cellist for over 40 years in New York City. I played classical music orchestras and chamber music ensembles. I was also drawn to jazz, free improv and Classical Arabic music. Sadly I injured my right hand and can on longer play. I am so grateful that I have found a new outlet for creativity in my life. I believe that all these experiences influence our life
Where do you find inspiration?Jean Michel Basquiat, Paul Klee, Kandinsky, Picasso, Miro, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Thelonius Monk, Frank Zappa, Bach, Stravinsky, Captain Beefheart, Schubert, Shostakovich, Rostropovich, Mahler, life, friends, beauty and non beauty in the world. The world holds so much that can inspire you when you search for it.
What would you do with $25,000?I would buy more art supplies, travel a bit more and try to share my art with more people. This would be an amazing experience and I would like to share my good fortune with others in the creative world and donate some money for Art in public school in New Haven.
