Creating art provides me the opportunity to hold a mirror to society, while also learning from the reflection. Art is a release and escape.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love creating art centered around the subject of people, a reflection of human behavior, my own personal experience, or a combination of all of these subjects and more. My artworks can range from unique or obscure portraits to abstract paintings with a lot of movement. However, no matter the subject or medium used, I love creating artworks that have deeper meaning. Artwork that is thought-provoking and/or inspires curiosity and mind expansion.
Where do you find inspiration? My primary inspirations come from my interactions with other people, the trials, tribulations, and joys of life, and my own personal experiences. Whether it they be so called "good" or "bad" experiences, I find these experiences to be the most compelling inspiration for my creative process. Beneath all of that lies the profound passion, respect, and love I have for every aspect of our wonderful universe.
What would you do with $25,000?I would dedicate a portion of the winnings to my daughter's artistic and music aspirations. I would use another portion towards the local organization that I'm a part of, called You Are Here, which is dedicated to helping fellow artists get community support and regional exposure. The money could help to solidify You Are Here as a non-profit organization.
