My favorite type of art to create is something that sparks a sense of adventure and the call of the hero’s journey. I also tend to make art that uplifts rather than brings down. There’s a sense of wonder that I believe all humans still have from when they were children and I try to capture that wonder and make them feel that again. There is still magic alive all around us, but it’s our creativity that keeps it alive. I like to experiment with different mediums that a viewer can interact with.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration from the things that inspired me as a youth, comic books movies, video games that are about a fantasy or sci-fi story of some kind. I also find social media can be an amazing inspiration sometimes as I follow many creative artists and scrolling through my feed I can just get motivated by seeing what others are creating. There’s a human element necessary I think for inspiration tapping in to what others are doing can fuel oneself.
What would you do with $25,000?What’s $25,000 I would probably build my workshop. I currently have a short basement in the house that I live in that’s difficult to work in and not ideal. I can store all of my tools and supplies there, but I always have to pull them out into my carport to do anything major. I would build a 10 x 14 workshop with an extended porch for doing blacksmithing and I would run a shop vac system so every tool had a hose so I could work in a very clean environment and be very productive.
