I believe it changes with seasons. Sometimes I am in a season of writing, sometimes a season of listening, observing, sometimes a season of photography, or painting and drawing. Sometimes I am in a season of clay. I do not believe in having a favorite. Seasons come and seasons go, and then come back again, but never quite the same.
Where do you find inspiration?I believe God is my number one inspiration, whether that be in the eyes of my 9 year old son Kano, or in the ripples of the river current. I often listen to the wind and the earth because that is when I am most at peace, speaking with God. Prayer also is an inspiration. Art is much like a prayer to me, for someone to finally hear it.
What would you do with $25,000?I would like to be able to focus more on my professional art career. I am currently an art teacher and the funds would help alleviate financial burdens of a single mom/aspiring artist. I live in the middle of the mountains where income isn't comparable to major cities, even with a masters degree. Ultimately, I would love to create a studio in my downstairs basement with a dark room for printmaking, photography, more painting and drawing supplies etc.
