Because music is life, and my photography enables me to capture moments that make that life worth living. My camera is my instrument.

Photography. Generally, what was once called “straight photography”, but I’ve also been creating strictly digital (and always stated as such) approximations of daguerreotypes/ambrotypes/tintypes and Cyanotypes. It is my belief that if the masters of these early processes had access to modern technology, they would have certainly utilized it. I’m also quite sure that Ansel Adams, who was no Luddite especially given his association with Land and instant photography, would have loved it.
Where do you find inspiration?Everywhere! Especially in music, and in recognizing the history of the medium and its advancement in the digital age. Technology is incredibly inspiring to me.
What would you do with $25,000?At the ago of 68, but most definitely still shooting music and everything else, I’m trying to do my 2nd book. It’s to be a past/present/future compilation of my images and writing. It’s slow going, I’m going through negs from the 1980s-2005, and each high res scan costs $30. It’s an archeological dig through my negs-I’m looking for unprinted images. I’ve started, but haven’t got near the funds needed. There’s a good deal of musical history represented, it’s not just an ego project at all.
