Idk what I’m doing but I’m doing it.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I’ve loved drawing since I was old enough to scuff paper with a crayon. That paper was the only place I felt safe enough to be big and loud. The older I got, the more my work shifted (of course)- where drawing now feels more like trying to trace a single frame of a film in my head that I can’t pause. Once I accepted ideas don’t need to be “good” to exist, my drawings became looser, and morphed into storyboards. Now, I’m diving into animation—and I think I could happily drown in it :)
Where do you find inspiration?I’m inspired by the patterns in life—how every shape already exists somewhere, just in different forms. Clouds become terrain for sets, twigs and branches resemble veins, arteries, or fingers in stop motion, and wood grain can mimic flowing water in still shots. Once you start seeing these connections, they’re everywhere. Knowing there will always be new natural parallels to discover and turn into art is what keeps me motivated to wake up for another tomorrow.
What would you do with $25,000?Make some pretty surreal films, and probably give the world some pretty cool dreams.
