I create art to capture childhood moments mostly in pastel but also in oil. I try to capture the innocence and simplicity of childhood.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create are the simple moments and joys of childhood.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration from my 30 years of teaching elementary art! The memory of the students that I taught and also from the years of watching my son Christopher grow are often found in my pastel paintings! I also find a lot of inspiration from my garden. For me Kindergarten was my favorite year of school- I couldn’t wait to be the first to paint at the easel. My kindergarten teacher allowed me to paint all day.
What would you do with $25,000?I would definitely love to expand my tiny studio and visit Paris. I would also have some of my art professionally framed and then would donate selected pieces of my art to St. Jude’s Research hospital and the MSK cancer children’s wing.
