Art grew with me from childhood sketches to realism portraits. Even in my darkest years, drawing brought me back to myself.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art is realism portraiture using charcoal pencils. I love capturing emotion, depth, and realism in every face I draw. Charcoal allows me to create strong contrast, soft gradients, and detailed textures like skin, hair, and light. I also enjoy experimenting with carbon pencils and graphite techniques, combining methods I’ve learned over the years to improve my realism work. For me, portraits feel timeless because they preserve expression and personality in a single moment.
Where do you find inspiration?Over the years, I’ve found inspiration in constant growth and observation. Every time I pick up a pencil, I aim to improve my realism skills, even in small ways. I’m inspired by human emotion, facial expressions, and the way light and shadow shape a face. I also get inspiration from other artists online, especially realism portrait artists, and from studying everyday people and moments. Art, for me, is about capturing feeling and telling silent stories through details.
What would you do with $25,000?$25,000 would be a huge help for both my personal future and my family. I haven’t started college yet, so it would support my education and long-term goals. I would also invest in quality art materials like charcoal, pencils, sketchbooks, and professional paper to further develop my realism work. It would allow me to continue improving my skills while easing financial pressure at home and helping me focus more on building my art career.
