I quit art for 8 years after I lost my mom to suicide. Art has been a part of my healing journey. I paint dark things to pull out the light

I love painting skulls with acrylics. I’m a deep person & I see people down to their core. I see what lies beneath the mask.
Where do you find inspiration?God. I was in the dark so long that I made friends with it. My mom was my biggest inspiration. I wanted to be just like her when I was a kid. This art thing was our dream. Pain is what keeps me going.
What would you do with $25,000?Honestly? I’d pay off a lot of my debt and give some of it away to someone who needs help. I quit my good corporate job 2 years ago to pursue art. Now I understand what the term starving artist means because I lived it. I’m back to working a regular job for the third time since. I want to pay off my debt so I can be free to travel and create whatever I want. Creativity it where I thrive and when I’m doing stuff I don’t want to do, my mental health suffers.
