My favorite type of art to create is portraits. I enjoy drawing faces, usually from a photograph, which can tell you more than you think about a person. I also enjoy drawing female nude figures, helping women to feel empowered and comfortable in their bodies. This type of work helps me and I think others to embrace all body types, features, races, faces, and people. You can't always tell the background of a person from a drawing (charcoal in my face), so it leaves interpretation ambiguous.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration from my environment and the things I was exposed to growing up. I grew up in LA, so old Hollywood and cinema have always been a big thing in my household. I also liked to read a lot as a child, so I find inspiration from writers and poets. Also the women around me, carving out their unique path in the world and finding ways to work for themselves and be self sufficient.
What would you do with $25,000?I would pay off my credit card and student loan debt, sell my belongings, pack my bags and move back to Spain, and seriously invest in the supplies it would take for me to build up my craft, my portfolio, and to get my work out there in the real world, not just in online spaces.
