I make art to breach and expound upon relationships between us and the human condition. I find beauty in nature and in our deepest thoughts.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love creating anything if it means getting my hands dirty, yet also allows me to be precise and broad in my depictions. My passion lies in oil painting. I love the way the paints move, their texture like butter. I love the way the colors mix and set. They're still alive, still curing if you come back to it within days. Allowing the colors to mix in a subtle way and create even deeper colors.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in nature and the human condition, in the vibrancy of the water, sky and everything in between. I love mountains; I am fascinated by nature and how it has evolved over billions of years. How nature changes and fractalizes; being able to learn its patterns as its unveiled through my own artistic process. Secondly, I find inspiration in the interactions we have, the subconscious and sometimes ignored dynamics between the self and those with whom we are closest.
What would you do with $25,000?I would first take care of some of my debts to ensure my blossoming family's future is taken care of. As I work in the field of addiction, my inclination is to make sure I donate a healthy portion of it, as well. This will allow me the freedom in both time and money to create freely, bringing my most encouraged ideas to life. I can continue my love of engaging with the community through classes and free events, modeling for a younger generation a new (and old) way to see the world.
